Project 3 : InDesign Book or Magazine Federica Bocca  

Description:  This is part of my second project for a digital art class I took during my sophomore year of college. The assignment asked us to make some postcards each with a different themes and prompts. Here are th prompts:  For the  Landscape , you are to compose your image in the  Picturesque  Style: with a foreground, middle-ground, and background. Each of these “layers” should come from a  separate source image  — so that the final image will become a “ composite ” overlay of multiple elements & photos. There should be an architectural component or  folly  (like a building; gazebo; columns; ruins; etc), and several carefully cropped and inserted characters ( entourage ) — so the scene begins to tell a story. The figures may be realistic, or more abstract in nature — but they should all look like they are  part of the same image . For the  Portrait , you may choose to depict yourself, or someone else.   Description:  For my first project of this digital art class I took during my Sophomore year I was asked to create 5 different logos for different purposes.  1.  The first one is for a fertilizer company/plant store.  2. The second one is for a possible art logo for my accounts/blogs etc.  3. The third one is for a smoothie company.  4. The fourth logo represents a music store/vinyl store/record label. 5. The fifth one is for a potential bagel company. 

 Rotoscope:  This project was made using Photoshop as well. I picked the dancing scene between Dimitri and Anastasia from the movie Anastasia. I loved this mov- ie as kid and I thought it was a good idea to recreate it myself using this technique. First I uploaded the video reference to Photoshop and then I created a new video layer for my rotoscope. I set the video to 12 fps and then started adding layers and tracing the characters until I had a 7 sec- onds video. Lastly, I added a background I found on google images to make it a little bit more complex.

 Self Insertion:  This piece was done on Photoshop. The forest background is a picture I found on the internet. Some- how I had to find a picture of myself also going down a flight of stairs. My picture was taken during the night time in a met- ro station in Milan, meaning the lighting was very different than the red forest picture. After cut- ting the subject out and position- ing it into the new background, I had to change the hue and the warmth and more factors to make myself look more realistic in the fall foliage.

 Photo Vector Illustration:  This illustration was also done on illustrator. I took a picture I liked from Pinterest and transferred it in the software. It took me a long time considering each element had a lot of lighting and shading to do. The most challenging part was the furry coat because it had a lot of curves and edges and shading. Overall the final product is very close to the actual picture and I am pretty satisfied with it.
